Although she wanted to take care of him herself, she was also later admitted for Cedas-Sanai. While battling her health, her father signed documents that entered him into a conservatorship. She later lost being his guardian and she was not happy with that since she was his only blood relative.

The death of the 90210 actor was announced by his costar, Ian Ziering. Although Ian did not reveal what killed Joe E. Tata, going by his reported health challenges made known by his daughter, it is believed that Alzheimer’s disease was the cause of his death.
Kelly Tata made it known that after her father stopped acting in 2014 when he appeared in Mystery Girls, his health began failing him.
It would take until four years later before he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. By 2021 when she began looking for support, the condition progressed to its final stages.
