Biography of Susan Moonsie
It was in Minneapolis, Trinidad and Tobago that Susan Moonsie-Mohan was born on January 21, 1964, which means she is now years old. The singer was, however, brought up in Minneapolis, the United States.
Raised by a father who was a school teacher, she fell in love with music at a very young age, and by the time she was 12, she had already started writing songs. Fortunately, she met Prince in a local disco and she showed him her lyrics. He was impressed by what she had to show. Susan was 16 at the time.
When she was 17, she started her first musical group, The Hookers together with her sister Loren and Cavallo. At the age of 23, she joined the famous group, Vanity 6 together with Brenda Bennett and Vanity, but the group did not last very long before giving way after the release of its first and only album, Vanity 6 in 1982.
In 1983, Denise Matthews, Vanity, left the group to start her solo career. This led to the end of the group which then turned to Apollonia 6 as Apollonia (Patricia Kotero) joined. In 1984, the group released 2 albums, “Sex Shooter” and Blue Limousine”. Unfortunately, Susan and the group did not last beyond that year.
Apart from her musical career she also had a brief career as an actress. She appeared in the 1984 film, Purple Rain.

According to reports, Susan Moonsie got married to famous American actor, David Garfield. It was claimed that the marriage lasted for 6 years before Garfield lost his life in 1994 at the age of 51. More so, it was also reported that Susan Moonsie was not the first wife of the actor who before her, was married to a woman known as Sonja M. Lukic. They got married in 1974 ad remained together until Sonia’s death in 1984. The marriage was blessed with two children.

Now referred to as Susan Moonsie-Mohan, the former actress and singer shares her time between Brazil, her home country, and the United States. Althugh she is no longer in the entertainment business, she still has a lot of other things going on for her. She has a restaurant in Trinadad which she has operated for many years.
Her son, Aaron Mohan is also a chef. According to him, he started cooking since he was in high school in his mother’s restaurant.
In 2020, the former singer and her son bought the popular Fort Lauderdale restaurant Hardy Park Bistro, in Florida which they still operate.
