Until her death in 2021, Jane Powell was many things all in one. She was a singer, dancer, and actress who is respected as one of the stars of the Golden age of Hollywood. One of the last individuals remaining from the golden age of Hollywood, she did not only catch attention for her talent, but also for her beauty which kept men at her beck and call including Dickie Moore who was her last husband.
Before Dickie, the late actress got married four different times to four different men, but all the marriages ended along the way. The actress who was born on 1 April 1929 in the United States, started her career in 1944. She would continue until 2004 when she finally called it quits. 1. Geary Steffen
Born on 28 October 1923, in California, Geary Steffen was the first husband of the actress. He was a polo player as well as an ice skater. More so, he served in the Tenth Mountain Division as a lieutenant during World War II. Among other things, he was also a tennis player.
She had a brief relationship with Stanley Catron before her marriage to Geary. Steffen and Jane Powell got married in 1949 when she was only 20 years old. The marriage would only last four years before it ended in divorce in 1953. Geary would not get married again until 1979 when he tied the knot with Mary Lou Morgan. They remained together until 2004 when he died of pneumonia at the age of 81 years.
The couple had two children together, Gearhardt Anthony Steffen III who was born on 21 July 1951, and Suzanne Ilene Steffen who was born on 21 November 1952.
2. Patrick Nerney
Only a year after her marriage to Steffen came to an end, the actress got married again. This time around, it was to a man known as Patrick W Nerney who was born on May 19, 1920. The two meet in 1952 when she was still married, but it was on November 8, 1954, that they tied the knot. She was 25 years old at the time.
Patrick was a Los Angeles automobile dealer and also served during World War II. Nonetheless, he was better known in Hollywood for some high-profile relationships that he maintained as he dated various women including radio singer Ginny Simms.
Pat got married to Jane in 1954 and they remained together for 9 years before the marriage came to an end in divorce. Their union was blessed with a daughter, Lindsey Averill Nerney who was born on 1 February 1956.
That was not the first divorce for either of them; Pat was previously married to another actress, Mona Freeman from 1945 to 1952. Nerney died on August 15, 1994. He was 74 years of age at the time of his death.
3. James Fitzgerald
The next marriage of the actress was to James Fitzgerald, a man she met in 1965. After dating for only five months, the two fit married on 27 June 1965. They remained together for close to 10 years before they ended their marriage in 1975. James is a Canadian journalist even though he is not as popular as the other men she got married to. He served as her manager.
4. David Parlour
Her marriage to James seemed as though it was destined to last forever because it was her longest before it came to an end. Not deterred, the actress got into another relationship with writer David Parlour and then in 1981, they got married. The union only lasted three years before it ended in 1981.
5. And Then Came Dickie Moore
After four failed marriages, Jane Powell was not about to call it quits on marriage. She got into another relationship with who had previously married Pat Dempsey from 1948 to 1954. Born on 12 September 1925, John Richard Moore Jr. was also an actor.
Jane did not rush to get married again as she waited until 1988 before she agreed to get married to Moore although they started dating only a year after her fourth divorce and she soon moved in with him. This marriage was the one that stood the test of time as they remained together for the next 33 years until 2015 when Dickie died at the age of 90.
Even though they did not have any kids together, they both found a love that sustained them after their separate failed marriages.

Unfortunately, her relationship with Nelson did not go far.
2. Stanley Catron
The actress was dated Stanley even before she met her first husband. They were an item from 1943 to 1945.
